Daniel Harrison Bulloch was born 16 July 1840 in Meriwether County, Georgia. On 01 November 1863 he married Matilda Ann Collier in Upson County, Georgia. Daniel served with company F., of the 41st Georgia Infantry Regiment during the War Between the States. He enlisted on 1 August, 1862. He was with his company on July 4, 1863 when the Confederate Army surrendered after the siege at Vicksburg, Mississippi, and was paroled there on July 6th. He was "exchanged" at Demopolis, Alabama on August 29, 1863. After a furlough during which he was married, he returned to his unit just in time for the battle of Chattanooga ("Missionary Ridge"), and remained there until he was surrendered near Raliegh, North Carolina. After the war Daniel settled for a time in Meriwether County and served on the Meriwether County Board of Commissioners during the term from February 1889 - February 1892.
