Martha Ann Bulloch was born February 1836 in Meriwether County, Georgia. She was married to Hilliard Roper on September 1852 in the same county. Martha Ann and Hilliard went west to Arkansas with her brother Greenberry and her Uncle Henry Bullock and his family about 1856. The Roper's settled in the vicinity of Drew County, Arkansas.
